Hello, I am Melanie McKenna. I am an Approved and Ofsted registered Specialist Childminder on the Trio Devon Childminding Network. I received an Outstanding grade from Ofsted in my last inspection. Since August 2011 I hold a Certificate in Early Years Practice, the first part of the Foundation Degree I am undertaking. I am qualified with an NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care Learning & Development.

I am married to Andrew. I have an 18 year and 13 year old step son. I have two children, my son who is 7 years old, and my daughter who is 6 years old. My husband and I have been police checked. I am registered with and have been inspected by Environmental Health.

I live at the top end of Whiddon Valley, just past Orchard Vale Community School.

I provide fun for the children in a warm and caring environment. I have a small number of children with me during school term time. Most of which start at a very young age and only leave when they start school. I follow a curriculum with the children to monitor their progress, which is completed with help from you. The children learn about their community, they make friends and learn independence as they grow and learn. I rarely have vacancies as the children come and stay for years at a time. When the children are 3 years old, they are entitiled to come to me for 15 hours a week for free. See my Early Years Entitlement link above left.
